JPMorgan brings its JPM Coin deposit token to Ethereum

The bank's dollar deposit token, launched on Base in 2025, now also runs on Ethereum for institutional clients.

What happened

On October 19, 2026, Kinexys by J.P. Morgan said the bank has brought its USD deposit token, JPM Coin (JPMD), to Ethereum for institutional clients.

JPMD represents JPMorgan bank deposits on a public blockchain. It first launched on Base in November 2025 and now supports peer-to-peer transfers across EVM networks including Base and Ethereum. Kinexys cited Ethereum's depth of on-chain liquidity and tokenized assets.

Kinexys says it has handled more than $4 trillion in cumulative transactions, averaging $7 billion a day. “Tokenized financial infrastructure is no longer theoretical,” said Emma Landriault, global head of Kinexys Labs.

My take Opinion, not advice.

A deposit token is not a cryptocurrency in the trading sense. You can't speculate on it. But it puts real bank money on the same rails as everything else.

I read this as infrastructure news. It doesn't move my charts today; it changes what the market looks like in a few years.
